Maggie, mountains and some mice
Maggie had three Munros to collect in the Cairngorms so we set off for a two day trip to get them "in the bag!
We walked up the Lairig Ghru in somewhat dubious weather, rain, wind and a little bit of sun, towards Corrour Bothy where we planned to spend the night. On arriving at the bothy, we found it already occupied so we followed plan b. We climbed up towards Devil's Point stashing our bags on the way at a possible bivi site. We were lucky to be on the top when then weather was good so we enjoyed the views before heading back to our bags and supper. All was going well and the guys in the bothy passed us and invited us in to share the bothy but we still thought a bivi would be good. That is until the rain started and the deer decided we were in their sleeping place and we started to feel we were in the wrong place! So we packed up the stoves and headed down to the bothy.
We got a great welcome form the guys, a very international group of four Sri Lankans, one Turk and one German. All was good, plenty space for us all then the door rattled again and in came two more Scots. So we were ten folk that night with a great fire going in the stove and a very cosy atmosphere.
Again, all was going well but during the night, the bothy mice decided to party! They scampered about all over the place even scrambling over Dave's arm at one point! The mice seemed to be everywhere!
In the morning Hennig was first out and Maggie and I met up with him again just before Braeriach
.
We had a great trip bagging the three Munros Maggie wanted to tick plus Braeriach from a different direction.
