Winter skills and views!

On Saturday the weather was relatively good for Cairngorm this winter and then we had Sunday which was a great day to be out on the hills with sunshine, views and very atmospheric light.

Another stormy day!

A blowy and blizzardy day on Cairngorm with Andy and Nick for Team Ascent. We found a sheltered spot to look at skills and dig some shelters for lunch before getting a phone call mid-afternoon letting me know that the ski area had been evacuated due to the storm, the snow gates closed and that my car was the only one left in the Ciste car park! So a snowy drive back down the road after a good day out in challenging weather.

Wintry winter skills

The second day of an introductory winter skills course for Glenmore Lodge and we walked in to Coire an t-Sneachda. I think it must be the snowiest I have seen the corrie!

Nottingham Uni winter skills group

No photos for this one from me as the visibility was a bit challenging for the camera but Rob and I had two great days with the Nottingham University students for Talisman Activities. Frozen hair, spindrift everywhere, sliding about and keeping our gloves and all our other kit from blowing away were some of the memorable parts of the day!
