Cairngorm looking a bit more wintry

It was certainly more wintry today in Coire an t-Sneachda and quite a contrast to the black crags we saw on Friday. Ian, Gareth and I went in for walk and a look and spotted quite a few folk out climbing on various routes - The Runnel, Mirror Direct, Finger's Ridge, The Seam and more. The morning was cold and bright then snow showers came in this afternoon.
We were surprised by the amount of water ice on the Goat Track (path, not gully!).

A wintry wander around Coire an t-Sneachda

It was a bit misty today but with glimpses of blue sky at times! Coire an t-Sneachda certainly looked wintry and I had a wander around the corrie before heading up underneath the Mess of Pottage on crunchy, crusty snow with patches of wind scoured neve.
There were climbers on Pygmy Ridge and Hidden Chimney and I think there were two more on Fluted Buttress.
It looks like it is going to be very mild over the next couple of days so it will be interesting to see what it will all look like afterwards.

Pygmy Ridge, Coire an t-Sneachda

Another great day out at Cairngorm!
Ron and I walked in early and were surprised by how much more snow there was compared to Wednesday. Lots of fresh snow on the walk in and on the approach to the route then thick rime ice on the rock all the way to the top. Lovely!
Lots of climbers around too.
